While vacationing in their home country of India observed the 14-year-old Deepika Kurup from New Hampshire children who drank from dirty puddles of water. The girl knew that when she was at home sit directly on a solution to this problem had and invented during the “Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge,” a functional and efficient drinking water filter which is driven by solar energy and the global water could solve the problem.

The Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge is for children and adolescents between the 5th and 8th class suitable. The US-American competition may be best known in this country with the youth research competition are compared. The goal is to promote young and talented scientists to distinguish and identify a future professional use. This year Deepika Kurup made it all the way forward and picked up the solar water-filtering system first prize and € 25,000 for thus their future education.
