Every Sci- fi fan knows him – the Death Star from the Star Wars films. Now there are the Star Wars space station as real 3D hologram . Students and professors of the School of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds have developed a new method to represent 3D holograms. The scientists use a LED ring rotating in fast speed, thus creating a 3D hologram.

Real 3D hologram of the Star Wars space station

University of Leeds – 3D Ball generates genuine holograms with 300 revolutions per minute

had one or the other time trends reported about Star Wars. Often the sci-fi legend is used to make new products and ideas in the reality show. Although you can the presented Death Star is not replicate in real terms, since too much material will be needed and produced to high costs would be (the cost and cost of materials were calculated here) but can be a Star Wars space station as a 3D hologram.

New Preparation of the Star Wars Death Star hologram

The team led by the Death Star Hologram 3D while using a vacuum in the sphere turns an LED ring with 300 revolutions per minute. The ring itself can be seen in the speed not more, but the light which make the LED’s. The correct timing so created the holograms that look like the real thing. Although the new method is not revolutionary, but the visual effect of the Star Wars Death Star hologram impressive. Too bad that there is no video. The photo above makes that is already wanting more.
