Nissan Glider Blade – Concept unveiled in Tokyo
At this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan has introduced a new concept for a futuristic car of the future. The so-called Nissan Blade Glider somehow reminds me of a paper airplane, or in a glider. The new electric racer in Tokyo has drawn a lot of attention, because he is not only a sporty single-seater (with an option for up to 2 co-passengers) of exhaust gas rushing through the streets freely, but also quite striking designed. The Nissan Glider Blade was actually inspired by a glider. The futuristic car of the future can not fly (yet) but it takes quite a few things that should bring a flying car. On the one hand there is the lightness of the materials chosen. Of course, with the electric runabout comes to the use of carbon fiber and all other such materials used in the cockpit are ultra-light. The outer chassis itself is similar to a race car and is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). On the other hand, it is the shape of the car, which has been specifically chosen so as to achieve several advantages. The car achieves peak values when it comes to aerodynamics, air resistance and balance in curves.
